Addy's Heartwarmer

REALLY quick project -- make these during your favorite half hour show.

You'll need:

Yarn -- Sport weight or a ~LIGHT~ worshed weight like Caron Simply Soft
G Hook

If you can't read crochet patterns, go here for help.

Chain 13.

Row 1: 12 sc in each ch

Rows 2 - 8 *inc in first stitch, sc in all other stitches intil last sc in row, inc in last stitch, ch 1, turn* repeat until row 8 (26 sc)

Row 9 - 12 *sc in each stitch in each row, ch1, turn* (no inc), c1, turn

Row 13: 1 sc in next 10 sc, ch 1, turn

Rows 14 - 18: *sc in next 10 sc, ch 1, turn*

Row 19: sc in next 8 sc, work 1 dec in sc 9 and 10 (9 stitches)

(HINT: All of your decreases are going to be around the doll's neck. All your increases are going to be away from it. If you find yourself increasing or decreasing at the wrong spot, you counted wrong.)

Row 20 - 22: *sc in next 9 sc, ch 1, turn*

Row 23: sc in next 7 sc, 1 dec in sc 8 and 9 (8 stitches)

Row 24 - 26: *sc in next 8 sc, ch 1, turn*

Row 27: inc in first stitch, 3 sc, 2 dec in last 4 sc (7 stitches) ch 1, turn

Row 28: sc in each sc ch 1 turn (7 sc)

Row 29: inc in first stitch, 2 sc, 2 dec in last 4 sc (6 stitches), ch 1, turn

Row 30: sc in each sc ch1 turn (6 sc)

Row 31: inc in first stitch, 1 sc, 2 dec in last 4 sc (5 stitches), ch 1, turn

Row 32: sc in each sc ch 1 turn (5 sc)

Row 33: inc in 1st sc, 2 dec in next 4 sc, ch 1 turn (4 stitches)

Row 34: sc in each sc ch 1 turn (4 sc)

Row 35: sc in first 2 sc, work 1 dec in next 2 sc (3 stitches) ch 1 turn

Row 36: sc in each sc ch 1 turn (3 sc)

Row 37: sc in first sc, dec in last 2 sc (2 stitches) ch 1 turn

Row 38: dec in last two sc, tie off

To make the other side of the heartwarmer, repeat rows 13-19 in the other side of the project.

Optional but encouraged: in a contrasting color (or even not if you want to save yarn), edge around the entire heartwarmer in either scs or slps.
