Marina
Marina got her name because she loves the water, and boating on the lake is one of her favorite ways to relax. She was adopted from China, from the Nanchang province. She came from a small farming town by the river, and now she lives in small rural town in South Carolina by the lake. She enjoys being outside, whether boating, swimming, hiking or camping.
People often comment on Marina's thoughful qualities - she is compassionate, helpful and reliable. She truly enjoys school, and earns excellent grades. Her favorite subjects are science and math, and she can't wait until she's old enough to have a chemistry set! She's a techno-geek, and loves gadgets, especially electronic quiz games. Her favorite TV shows are CSI (so she can figure out the clues before they do) and Jeopardy (she gets about a third of the answers right). Her favorite movies are Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Lord of the Rings. She also likes scary movies, but admits that sometimes she still peeks through her fingers during the most frightening parts.
Marina prefers to have just a few very best friends, rather than a lot of shallow acquaintances. She is loyal and loving, and will always be there for a friend in need. She most enjoys spending time with her cousin, Nellie.
While Marina loves her Chinese heritage and learning about her country of origin, now she is also very proud to be an American Girl!
